Mike is an exceptional member of the Mountain States Driver’s Education team. His calm and patient personality helps him easily guide his students through their driving instruction. He takes an individualistic approach to his instruction and takes their experience and prior car driving knowledge into consideration. The ultimate goal is to get his students to pass the Driver’s License Test and earn their Driver’s license. Mike also greatly emphasizes care safety. He wants his students to not only pass their test, but to also become safe and competent lifetime drivers.
Mike was raised in Northern Colorado and graduated from Poudre High School and Colorado State University. He worked for Woodward Governor as a machinist for ten years before beginning work for the State Department. Most of his time with the State was spent as an Administrative Law Judge for the Department of Labor. He retired after 20 years and now enjoys spending his time with his wife and three children. Together they spend their time traveling, camping, and soaking in the beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Besides his family, the most important thing in Mike’s life is his Mescalero Apache heritage. He enjoys sharing his native culture through medicine and art that has been passed down through his family.
